This library is a .NET implementation of the OpenTracing API. To fully understand this platform API, it's helpful to be familiar with the OpenTracing project and terminology more generally. For the time being, mild backwards-incompatible changes may be made without changing the major version number. As OpenTracing and opentracing-csharp mature, backwards compatibility will become more of a priority.

A comprehensive validating parser for GS1 Application Identifiers (AIs). Latest Release Notes: -------------- This release contains minor breaking changes as well as new functionality. Please check existing code carefully to ensure that it continues to work as expected after upgrading. The following changes were made in this release. 1) Added support for new NHRN (Costa Rica Sanitary Register Number). AI 717 - see GSCN 25-199. 2) Added support for new GS1 AIs for activation of mobile communication devices onto cellular networks. AIs 8040, 8041, 8042 and 8043 - see GSCN 25-047. 3) Updated abbreviations for measures to UN ECE Recommendation 20 - see GSCN 25-081. 4) Fixed an issue concerning detection of elements that are incorrectly terminated with an FNC1 character. 5) Fixed an issue with enumeration of exceptions when calling ParseEx(). 6) Fixed an memory leak issue when calling ParseEx(). 7) Improved error handling to provide a more consistent approach to classifying errors as fatal or non-fatal. 8) Rationalised error and warning numbers. This is a potentially breaking change if existing code relies on specific error number values. 9) Consistent reporting of positions and offsets in resolved elements and exceptions. 10) Consistent use of the term 'element' instead of 'entity' to align better with GS1 terminology. NB., this is a breaking change. 11) Supplied missing translations for all official EU and EFTA languages. 12) Added support for parsing mulitple element string sequences in a single call to Parse(). 13) Implemented data relationship rules for certain AIs as per GS1 General Specifications. 14) Added support for parsing data elements represented is GS1 Human-Readable Information (HRI) format. 15) Provided improved and expanded documentation for the parser. An implementation of the **ISO-3166 (Country Codes)** as a portable C# library. >The purpose of ISO 3166 is to define internationally recognized codes of letters and/or numbers that we can use when we refer to countries and their subdivisions. However, it does not define the names of countries – this information comes from United Nations sources (Terminology Bulletin Country Names and the Country and Region Codes for Statistical Use maintained by the United Nations Statistics Divisions). >Using codes saves time and avoids errors as instead of using a country’s name (which will change depending on the language being used), we can use a combination of letters and/or numbers that are understood all over the world. >For example, all national postal organizations throughout the world exchange international mail in containers identified with the relevant country code. Internet domain name systems use the codes to define top-level domain names such as “.fr” for France, “.au” for Australia. In addition, in machine-readable passports, the codes are used to determine the nationality of the user and, when we send money from one bank to another, the country codes are a way to identify where the bank is based.
